A Mere Fate of Mine

Description
Being summoned into Abyss, Lucien Santosa was full of despair. This world was filled with 2nd class beings where he was only level 0 and couldn’t level up.
Taking on endless ‘Paths’ was the only way for him to survive, being wanted by a dark organization.
Through uncountable sufferings and tortures, he finally managed to come back to Earth. The system was gone and everything was like a dream to him.
However, before Lucien could live a peaceful life, the river of fate began to do its job.
“What!? Many high school kids are being summoned to another world?”
“Wuxia cultivators started to appear out of nowhere around China!?”
“Woah! This time it's the magicians in the western countries!?”
Right when he was about to ask what’s wrong with Earth-
[Congratulations! Your world, Earth, has connected to Legas! You are given a chance to grow stronger by the system. Now, it’s time to pave your own path!]
A familiar message similar to one he received before greeted his eyes.
“Fuuuu”

This is my first time writing a novel. Feel free to criticize! Not too much though. I've got a fragile heart here lol!
Note: The system here is from The Legend of Randidly Ghosthound, the best system ever!
Schedule: At least 3-4 chapters a week, depending on how much time I have

- MojitoRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I had to write this review because I just saw how many haters this author has. I love this story and its plot, there are some rough edges but again rough draft and I am eager to read more from this author.
When people compare his style to randidly, I laugh because Bunnylukas did it better. - Jtw1000Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I just found this novel by chance and started reading it because it seemed interesting. I liked the novel alot and I honestly can't say I saw anything I would want to change about it as a casual reader. The character development was there and I will say that my enjoyment of the novel increased the more I read it. All in all I just reviewed to show support and I recommend anyone should give this novel a shot.
- GreyPhoenixRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Its for someone who likes a bit romance, a nice mc with character, a bit worldbuilding, and a touch RPG-Fantasy-Gamelike, I recommend it.
You just don't need to take everything too serious, because its not always that realistic (*cough*
Spoiler: Spoiler
Family, Some Interactions, Some [One] Loveinterest
*cough*)
(but hey, its fantasy, that dont need to be realistic)
All in all, a very nice read - RensTRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I love the premise of the story & the way it's progressing. Only negative I can mention is the amount of grammar mistakes being made, but that's easily fixed with a good PR :)
- BookKoboldRoyal Road★★★ 3.0TL;DR It’s a Wuxia meets litRPG but with a very eh MC and other characters. The interactions between them are boring and overdone with this kind of literature. If you read things from Novel updates, I know what kind of person you are so you’ll end up liking this.
Overall score a solid 3, here’s why.
It’s a path litRPG, the author admitted to following puddles (Randidly Ghosthounds author’s) work, so we get to see that unique (I’ve seen it done other places but not enough, yet, to lose its uniqueness) style of leveling up, and I personally enjoy it. However, the way the MC is and the shallowness and overdone interactions between all the characters... it just, no thank you. I personally hate the whole “Looks at teasingly” “K-pop like hair” it’s lacking in real character depth. It’s what you expect from a EH Wuxia.
Don’t go into this expecting an amazing litRPG adventure, but also don’t think it’s the worst thing ever. I’m just super picky, so give it a try and form your own opinion!
If theres one thing I wish to see the author work on it would be the way the MC presents himself and how others are brought into the scene. There’s more but I’m sure you’ll have a lot on your plate Author, so best of luck and keep working hard! - Winged ThingRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Spoiler: Spoiler
I can't in good faith rate this novel higher. The Sysyem aspects and early parts are interesting enough but the current earth arc is both long and boring. It went from lots of action to sudden a stop of JP filler arc. The story has a lot of promise and with a rewrite and an editor could become a really good novel - SanexusRoyal Road★★★ 2.5I was interested in a story that copies from Randidly, but at chapter 24 till 37 it’s become a terrible story.. I already didn’t like parts before, but all the action and fantasy has taken a side-door.
Hope it starts up again at 38, can only hope
Just let the earth become part of the system so the story can be somewhat entertaining again - kelkel1133Royal Road★★★ 2.5The grammar is terrible, flat out.
- Right, my grammar is terrible. I agree with you on this point.
The system seems to be just an excuse to give him power.
- In system novels, most of the systems exist to give people power. The system logs in the first chapter even said that the system is the tool to make people stronger. Moreover, the system in my novel is for everyone, not just mc. Any advantages mc gets, other people will as well.
Nope, the system just don't give free powers. Read The New World or Ghosthound or The Games We Play or whatever LitRPG fiction there is. There is a huge difference between giving free power and giving power for something—be it exterminating a race, personal power from a past life, the system amassing its own power, or dominating the world. At the very least, your character should at least question the purpose of why the system does things and not just put it there like it exists like some sort of god granting free salvation for all by praying.
Any difficulties are almost immediately negated.
- Well, it's not that all difficulties are totally negated. There are the consequences but I haven't shown it yet. Like the personality of Lucien after torture or how Alicia used all her power to cure Lucien in ch 22-23, the consequences are just lying in wait for the right time.
Make it more dramatic. Of course there are consequences but make it that the protagonist worked hard for it like giving it a mini-arc like what TLRG does or introduce plot twists like The New World and TGWP.
The plot is full of cringy stereyotypes.
- Please be more specific or else I don't know how to answer. Which part do you mean?
Be more creative. Make new scenarios and not just assemble a haphazard plot by ripping it off from other cultures like japan cliches, memes, lame jokes, etc.
It swaps between a serious and jokey tone.
- It is intentional as I find the mc who can smile in front of the difficulties is cool. It shows how strong willpower he has.
Make him say a bit - CelsicaRoyal Road★★★ 2.525 chapters out and no written review. At the time of this review I found this story on the fourth page of Popular the Week so I gave it a try. (Upd. Now on first page. Why.)
Overall Score 3/5
It made me want to know what happens next.
Style Score 2.5/5
The real weakness here. The inner monologues and conversation feel completely out of place. It's like listening to a Vocaloid song if you don't know it isn't a real person, something is a bit off but it feels fine anyways?
Story 3.5/5
There's clearly a lot of outside inspirations, but it's not too bad. Reminds me somewhat of Korean transmigration stories especially, including the good and bad of those. The author has a story he wants to tell and it somewhat makes sense. Kept me going past the first chapter.
Grammar 3/5
Lots of repetition. Needs a lot of editing. But readable.
Character 3/5
It starts off on the wrong foot but a bit more was added to the MC later on like an afterthought. A common problem in isekais and transmigration. Hopefully will evolve more in the future
Update: gave this another look and the chapters since this review have lost the little interest I had in this. The review by Netlord points out all the poor story decisions better than I could. Somebody is liking this for it to be so high in the trending pages but I have absolutely no idea why.
