- CheeseDreamerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A really, really captivating story about a man who was kidnapped all the way to another world and returned alive to tell the tale, a tale mostly fraught with death and regrets.
We didn't live through most his adventures, but arived at his most puzzling one yet, "his return".
We learn bits and pieces of his past in Ellas through the tale he shared to his family, but even as more pieces come into play, what we discover only deepens the mystery, for even though he returned, his tale has yet to end. - gliglithRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story feels and is dark and foreboding. It is gloomy, it is intense, and it will put you in the characters’ shoes. Multiple POVs are handled well and feel necessary to the story progression. It is very easy to feel for the characters and to feel fear and foreboding. The prose and imagery are incredibly strong and the author does and excellent job of only including dialogue when absolutely necessary. There’s a dark mystique here that will keep you wanting for more.
- JaybmeRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5A new idea nicely written.
Well imagined and interestingly written. There's enough descriptive prose to convey the ideas thoroughly without being overly done or boring. The story moves along at a pace that keeps the interest chapter after chapter.
The story's told through multiple POV which i found a little disconnected in the first few chapters but as the plot develops the disparate views mesh into a well told story.
The quality of the writing improves with each chapter. Initially a little tentative the story quite quickly becomes compulsive, each twist well thought out.
The characters quite quickly become real with their personalities becoming integral to the story and although there are a number of important characters each is introduced with care and consideration as to how and when so they never overwhelm the main story.
There are a couple of typos which I wish I'd made note of now but I think I only found 4 or 5 in 83 chapters so that's not bad :)
I'm really happy to read something written in true English rather than American English!
Can't wait for the next installment.
