Aruse is a land of men, magic and war. It has been shaped through the eons by a strange phenomenon known as the Tide—a storm of golden clouds and violet lightning that sweeps across the world once a month. Drawing upon the mysterious power of this golden storm, the Tidecallers emerged, people with supernatural abilities that defied the laws of nature.

They could command the wind and waves, prophesy the future and warp through space. Yet, to fuel their powers, the Tidecallers must rely on the rain that falls with the Tide, a precious liquid called God’s Blood.

For access to this scarce resource, wars are waged. The fate of nations gambled. The lives of men sacrificed. With Tidecallers and all their destructive might, battles are only bloodier—and deadlier.

Dalle finds himself caught up in one such conflict, but inadvertently discovers the truth behind the Tide and its golden clouds, and the looming disaster that it beholds for mankind.
