- Sun HashiraRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Between the monotonous and formal language used by a street urchin, who claims to have never learnt how to read nor write, and his lack of cautionary sense having lived in treacherous environments makes the character more fractured than the corrupted socio-economic state of the entire country.
To me, even the side characters seem to have more depth and "reality" than our highlighted character.
If someone has been living without a shelter for his whole life, they wouldn't show recklessness even if they won a lottery jackpot.
The sheer excitement and carelessness displayed by this character is inherent of sheltered children with grand ambitions. And being chosen by a literal God isn't enough to deprive anyone of their ingrained instincts honed over the years.
If the character had a backstory akin to a sheltered child suddenly getting his home and family snatched away, then I'd believe his actions. - rumpunchRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Overall the story has a very good premise and has a plot of potential however it just feels shallow and the author does a poor job of trying to get where he’s trying to go. For example There’s no clear guidelines on how people in this story get stronger or how strong certain people are. There are literally no ranks of power and you have no idea what the peak is or how strong people are in comparison to others. The way the mc grows is great but other characters? Horrible and with that it just makes the every other character but the chosen feels insignificant like yes the chosen should be the peak of each kingdom but don’t make it seem so black and white. The author also fails to properly use to mc abilities in the story it’s like reading the story of handicapped mc. Overall the potential is there just needs a bit more work
