Sam is a ritualist, which means she gets to spend every day working in her favorite place in the world:The outdoors. The lands around Mosel don't have the luxury of guaranteed autumn harvests and consistent green canopies. No, It's up to Sam to carefully prepare and execute spells to clear the hazy fog that wraps around the earth.

Sam is thrilled to be given her first assignment since finishing her training. The Shoehorn Region. A dead, neglected area that had been mysteriously abandoned by the ritualist before her. During the process of regrowing the neglected landscape, she discovers something that doesn't quite sit right with her. Something is making the land flourish without the help of her meticulous rituals, and her curiosity is too great to leave it alone.
