Just because I cringed at the setup doesn't mean this should've happened.

I only wanted to fade into the background and wake up from this absurd dream. Watch silently, play the observer, and survive.

But like a walking cliché,my husband—yes,thatvillain I barely interacted with—suddenly starts noticing me. Like he's some Duke of the North from a medieval manhwa, brooding, intense… and now obsessively in love?

Wait—was it love at first sight? Hidden feelings? Now you're being cold?

Now you're desperate? What is going on?

And then came the kicker.

"Do you still wish to leave?" he asked, pointing at my stomach.

Yes. I'm pregnant.

The Duke of North defied the system and logic and made it happen. I don't even know how. His penetration skill is quite universe-defying.

But I do know one thing:

"Of course, I'll leave."

"How heartless,"he says.

Well, he's not wrong—but he's far from right.

I smiled.
