- CuddlefrogRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Excellent! Reminded me of Hugh Howey's works. Unassumingly creates a world with a climactic question at its center... One which we all seek to answer." What is the meaning of my life/existence? "
This book was both enthralling to me, while also making me a little depressed at the end. The mortal coil and all. But, beautiful work of art and THANK YOU AUTHOR! - DamelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Very nice short story. Start and end was great, all wrapped up. Sad story tho

The fact that it only has 19 ratings is a crime with how good this book is. Just please please read it. I wish I could write an actually comprehensive review but I'm just kind of stumped.
READ IT
Thanks - L.J.MolinaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0TLDR without spoilers: This novel is a great story on family and the meaning of living, with a greatly varied cast of characters and very impactful moments. A must read for sure.

I just finished this novel, and wow... What a hidden gem. The author manages to to blend the themes of family, death and the meaning of life while he slowly moves forwards in time.
The traggic hero for this story, Milton Jones, is the perfect epitome of the themes the author wanted to establish. He is first and foremost a family man, but the things he goes through in the novel as time moves forwards, are beyond saddening. He looses people, specially those close to him,and whenever he forms a new relationship, it is forcefully ripped away once time leaps forwards again.
Yet, the traggedy of Milton Jones is not the biggest strength of the story. It's biggest strength is how the author manages to make each and every relationship milton makes even more impactful than the last one. From G, to Joan, to Peter, to Milton's daughter, to pausa, and to many, many more characters. Each of these relationships slowly ease the audience into the mentality and character of Milton Jones, and by the end and beggining of time leap, I was in tears as to how each relationship he formed slowly got lost to time.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good yet concise Sci-fi story. It's a must read tearjerker for sure, and one that once it's starts rolling it will not stop until it has made you cry and cheer for Milton Jones in multiple ocassions. - MonarchRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is the first story on here that got my crying, really. The author (its been 2 years since he logged on this website), is very proficient at conveying emotions through words. Some chapters tug at your heartstrings, and some, rip your heart out and leave you bleeding.
Definitely a hidden gem. - TNTeadybearsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I randomly picked this up and finished it in a single sitting. I wasn’t expecting such a emotional and saddening story. Definitely a story I’m glad that I’ve read. The exploration of what human society would likely turn into in the future was also quite well explored and followed. 10/10
- ToothfaceRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I usually never read these sorts of stories, but this drew me fully in before the end of chapter 1.
An incredible story about family, memory, and legacy. I read it all in one sitting, shed more than one tear, and was left empty and longing for more.
PLEASE add this to your reading list. You won't regret it! - celiaRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hoo boy! Where do I even begin!
What a fucking ride that was!
Honestly never thought I would find a story like this on RR. Seriously, this is probably the most emotional book I've found on this website, and I've scoured more than half of the directories, from every genre.
It's sweet and it's bitter, it's lovely and it's sad, it's hopeful and it's tragic. It didn't just tug at my heartstrings; it friggin' pulled them a mile left and a mile right, dragged 'em up north and down south, fiddled them like a violin from the lowest to highest notes.
My heartstrings got friggin' abused. In a good way of course.
Also, Milton doesn't deserve a cookie. He deserves the most delicious chocolate chip ice cream, a whole gallon of it. Perhaps two, three gallon. Actually, maybe not chocolate chip. He feels like a strawberry flavor kind of guy.
He deserves the whole world.
Excellent work, Author. Thank you for sharing this work and finishing it. Much appreciated. - fannyhujagarRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Style:
This here is an example of an author who knows how to blend myriad things together, from bitter to sad to absolutely tragic. damn by the end of this story you're going to thank yourself for reading it and maybe even shed a tear or two.
Story:
The central premise of this story is a technology which offers a dying man the chance to allocate his remaining days across a century. Yes, to me this is a unique premise to that is also philosophically rich.
You see some stories are just collection of actions. This story, on the other hand, explores themes of mortality, time as currency, and the tension between quantity versus quality of life.
I won't delve into spoilers, but the relationships are what make this story impactful. It's a means of delving into the meaning of life and is a tearjerker for sure!
Characters:
Milton Jones is pretty much a tragic MC that you wanna buy a beer for and by the end that you wanna goddamn hug. The relationships are to die for and so well actualized they feel they actually exist
Grammar:
The author demonstrates strong grammar throughout. No issues or complaints here. - jex89Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I don't know. I feel like it is hard to give a fair review. This story is a true and utter tear jerker, and so I won't be giving too of an advanced review. The story is good, and the characters are realistic. There are witty jokes here and there, but behind them is true emotion that just cannot be copied.
True props for the author writing this. It is very rare that a work of art like this comes out, and I can only give my admiration. Though I don't want to be too flamboyant with my praise.
The grammar is good, and the characters are good. The idea itself is a hard to create one, but was done unequivocally well.
Read it. You won't regret it. As a future father, this story just hit home.
