I am sorry to say this, but the that opening line was something which snapped a certain narrator into my mind and the prose and the tone all went towards having a parallel interpretation of the story's tone. It was hard to take seriously because of that.
Right, more seriously. This was good, a bit dramatic and over the top - flowery even. It was good and is worth a minute or two to read, but the ending dips a bit too much into it, so that again it is a bit hard to take is seriously sadly.
